We’ve helped hundreds of sites, at organisations large and small, manage their water more easily, efficiently and effectively – saving running costs and reducing risks to interruptions.
In the last year, a 37% average water-saving was found for sites where small, low-cost water efficiency kit was installed in a large-scale approach delivered by Water Plus.* These included food and drink sector businesses, sports clubs including tennis, cricket, rugby and football grounds, a national supermarket’s sites, council sites and schools – at locations in three counties.
With efficiency kit cutting hot water use, it’s reducing energy use too.
It followed the Water Plus team delivering a 34.6% average water-saving**, including at hotels, restaurants, sports clubs and council buildings – in another large-scale programme in 2023.
We’re Water Plus – the largest water retailer in the UK – providing customer service and account management, meter reading, billing, technical water services such as additional water tracking to find further opportunities, leak detection and repair and expert water efficiency information, advice, projects and audits.

* Across 51 sites, a 37% average water-saving was identified, through services Water Plus can provide, where water efficiency kit was installed in 2024. The saving is based on water use data collected during water audits at each site to calculate savings on the annual estimated water use per site from water efficiency kit installed through Water Plus.
Water audits at 67 sites identified a 39% average reduction, in estimated annual water usage – with the opportunities and actions to save more water shared with Water Plus customers. The water audits found 17246m3 could be saved (17.2 million litres of water) in estimated water use in 12 months – from more low-cost water efficiency devices being installed at the sites visited.
This project, delivered by Water Plus, was funded by a wholesaler, under a Green Recovery programme.
** Average water-saving across 42 sites in England in 2023, tracked through water meter readings before and after water efficiency kit installed. In the pioneering large-scale project, designed and delivered by Water Plus, 200 water audits were delivered at a range of sites and sectors, including food and drink businesses, hotels, schools, sports clubs and parish council sites. The project was funded by a wholesaler, under a Green Recovery programme, that seeks out innovative and ambitious projects that can help reduce impacts on the environment and act as a blueprint in the water industry.
